    About the Ebook

This is a Valentine to the center of Escott O. Norton's home city: Downtown Los Angeles.

Shot entirely on his iPhone, these photos were taken mostly over a 2 day span during his Jury Duty lunch breaks. All of the photographs were taken from public property or from areas that can be accessed for free.

Downtown Los Angeles is rich in Architectural diversity and history. Don't let outsiders say Los Angeles doesn’t appreciate its historic Architecture, Just look at the stunning restoration of City Hall as an example. While there are photos of beautiful buildings that appear to be abandoned, they have not been torn down, so there is hope that they too will be reborn. There are also some glorious examples of careful restorations featured here.

Enjoy the book, and the next time you are in town, take your own tour!

    Escott Norton
    Los Angeles, California, USA

Escott O. Norton started taking pictures at 8 years old when his dad first gave him an old Brownie camera, and hasn't stopped! Escott is the 4th generation in a family of home developers and designers. He's drawn all of his life, and as a kid helped his father build the custom designed homes in which his family lived. Escott O. Norton has traveled all over the world in his quest to learn the essence of great design from both modern and historical architecture. Interested in all facets of design, Escott spent his childhood building props in a local theater. He started working in the film biz fresh out of High School. In his 20's he'd worked his way up to Production Designer and worked for many years creating worlds for films, T.V. and commercials. In the 1990s Escott decided to leave the film biz and go back to his "roots", designing custom homes. Mr. Norton is a lifelong preservationist and served as Director for the LA Historic Theatre Foundation (www.LAHTF.org)
