    About the Book

    Edit

Thumbnailing, the process of sketching tiny versions of the pages of one's story, is generally done as a way to not get stuck in the details of a drawing before "the whole" is working and also as to get a good overview of how the pages work together.

Each spread consists of a page of 16 thumbnails of spreads of A4 pages, and a page for notes or free sketches. I chose to make the book with the pages to be used in landscape format, the thumbnail page above the notes page, as I feel that sketchbooks are more balanced in my hands this way rather than traditional.

The book also comes with 2 pages of short tips, or reminders, for the thumbnailing process.

These sketchbooks/notebooks are primarily for thumbnailing picture books as the thumbnails are small (each page about 2x3cm). Although it can be used by other illustrators and people who work with storytelling in print-media who like to work small or don't need so much detail. If you need something bigger you can try to turn the page and use each spread of page thumbs as one page instead (creating a 3x4cm page) but then you get a line going through the middle of the page. It's up to you! (In the future I may release notebooks with bigger thumbs if I get the need for it or there's a big enough interest for it)

There's the options of both hardcover or softcover note books. The hardcover ones of cause offering a bit more support to draw on but instead having a more stiff back (+being more expensive) so it's really up to oneself what ones preference is.

    OMOiOMO

Hi! I'm Peter Hertzberg. I live to tell the stories that I feel are the most important and in the way I feel is the most moving, without having to worry about how they will be perceived by publishers and the industry. That's why I created OMOiOMO, my platform for releasing the stories I conjure out to the world. With OMOiOMO I can focus on creating and improving my craft, instead of the bureaucracies of the industry, so that hopefully, after 50 years, there will be people who, when thinking back to magical and important things from their childhood, they will think of a story I've told. I publish books in English! På svenska! Algunos en español! Ja vähen suomeksi!
