About the Creator
Karan Feder is a leading authority in performance-costume history, preservation, and exhibition. She founded Entertainment Exhibitions, a full-service advisory and collection management firm specializing in performance costume. Feder is credited with spearheading the initiative to rescue the entire surviving costume stock from Las Vegas’ legendary Folies Bergère cabaret show, which ran at the Hotel Tropicana for nearly 50 years. Karan’s preservation work with the Nevada State Museum and the Liberace Foundation afforded the historian unprecedented access to unique stage-costume archives representing the classic cabaret genre. She has studied, interpreted, cataloged, curated, acquired, and exhibited costumes created for the stage by such notable icons as Bob Mackie, Jerry Jackson, Jose Luis Vinas, Michel Gyarmathy, Nolan Miller, and Pete Menefee. Karan Feder has authored seven publications showcasing classic entertainment culture and the fascinating heritage of performance costumes.
