About
D’Anthony Allen is a husband, father, son, brother and most
importantly, a believer. He is a native of Birmingham, AL, a
city with deep roots in the Civil Rights’ struggle, but a city in
dire need of healing and restoration for those who are
spiritually and physically impoverished. He is an educator
with over 17 years of experience teaching English Literature
as well as Civil Rights History. He earned his Bachelor of Arts
in English from the University of the South, Sewanee. He
received his MA. Ed from California State University while
simultaneously pursing a certificate as a Gang Intervention/
Community Violence specialist in Los Angels California. His
passion for positively affirming communities has never
dwindled. During the last 13 years, he has worked primarily
within the private school sector, leading several initiatives
centered around social justice, racial healing, and poetry.
