    About the Book

    Edit

In STASIS of SEEING, Roger Minick has assembled images that challenge the time-honored, so-called straight photograph. Using his iPhone and various apps, he combines images from disparate moments, trying to replicate what the process of seeing is ultimately about –– finding stasis, that sense of momentary calm that results as our brains sort, select, and combine the seen and subliminally unseen at any given moment of our lives, what amounts to an involuntary, often confounding, yet profoundly magical phenomenon.
