    About the Book

    Edit

The author/photographer describes in pictures and few words the experience of traveling in South Africa and photographing a wide variety of wildlife. While he’s always had an interest in wildlife, he’s never pretended to be a serious wildlife photographer like some of his friends who’ve endured hardships and taken great risks to capture out-of-the ordinary images of animals in far corners of the world. “I’m an opportunist” he says. “If I happen to encounter an animal while working on a landscape image, and if I have the right camera and lens, I’ll grab a shot, and
    sometimes I get lucky.”
Twenty-two years ago, he was invited to tag along with a hunting party in Botswana and make some pictures as a record of the hunt. He made a few good images and it was enough to make him want to return and see “What I could do better.” In 2018 he went to Kruger National Park in South Africa and had some fortunate sightings, good weather and several opportunities to photograph a large variety of animals, capturing their normal behavior and a few special incidents.
This book presents 58 of the best photographs from that experience.
