This book is made up of stories I first started to write in a college writing class in 1951. I was encouraged by the instructor's comment: "You write what I can't teach, feelings." I am not certain I understood the comment but it kept me writing my way, whatever the consequences. As a result, I have searched my memory, my heart for those events, happenings that have dealt with death, with punishment, with suffering, hurt and the pain of growing up.
