Gathered in this zine is the writing and artwork created by participants of DSTL Arts’ Conchas y Café creative writing classes for adults. Through poetry and short fiction, drawings and photo composition, these workshops empower participants as the artists they are, helping them develop new skills in storytelling.

The theme for Conchas y Café Zine; Volume 4, Issue 1, is Poetry as Resistance. Through manifesto, poetry and art that empowers and values our intersectional identities, we gather here a view free of malicious bias, a bias too often felt in our everyday interactions. We gather here our own biased views of love for our who we are, for our amazing communities.
