    This book traces a West Point cadet from 1925, graduation 1929, and his life from his first year where he met his young wife, and their early days from Hawaii to Panama and back again. His assignments from WW II and by Korea, when heir two sons enter the Army pictures in this volume, and the family growth to 2016 with sons and daughters, then grandsons and daughters, an see the family today. The first William Vestal arrived in America in 1694, documented in any search - he was a Quaker from England, and married s girl that also arrived on same ship. His brother died before arrival. Every male born served after a later William Vestal, that was a Union soldier 1860-64. Total today, seven by VESTAL last name: So his off spring Samuel Curtis Vestal* from Greencastle, Indiana, was No. 2, and was first a Annapolis Navy graduate - that wanted the Army and West Point. He resigned his midshipmen, and toughed out about 18 months as enlisted man before getting his Lt. appointment in Army. He was my grand farther. and passed in 1958, my brother Sam served Korea era; his son Kirk via Vietnam era; Me-Jim in Korea after conflict, my son Jason served in England & Spain during Desert Storm early 1990's. *Author "Maintenance of Peace" Putnam and Sons 1921, Now reprints via Amazon Books.

    I was a news photographer and picture editor for seven newspapers, and member of the National Press Photographers Assc. since 1956. A Life Member of the San Francisco Bay Area Press Photographers Association, after being the Picture Editor at The Sacramento (CA) Union (1968-89), New York Newsday (1989-94), and Contra Costa Times (1994-96) when I retired after 40-years in the newspaper business - starting as a shooter since 1956. I'm retired but still shoot and actively travel today for my own interest. The assorted blurb.com books have turned out to be a way to gather many of my images for nice and simple presentations.
