    About the Book

This is the story of a week in Portugal, not my first by far but this time it was with my sister. From Lisbon we travellers to Castelo Branco where we made our base. During our time we made our way through Tejo International Park starting with the small village community of Idanha-a-Velha, once the entry point for the Romans 2000 years ago. Here we also saw storks on top of the church. Close by is the Barragem da Idanha and the near bye deserted small farming community of Cabeco Monterio. From there we could see the hilltop village of Monsanto to which we headed, Monsanto is a fortified village overlooking the plains, but it is different. The village is built into a sea of huge boulders.
From there to Penha Garcia and down a log way to the near he river/stream and the site of a now deserted milling community although the artefacts are well maintained. There we also saw fossils dating back 500 million years,
If that wasn't enough the next port of call was Salvateera do Extremo, and it was extreme. Nestled of the ends of a. Ravine through which the river that separates Portugal from Spain. On the hill opposite sits a deserted fortress while vultures circle overhead.
Finally a stop by the beautiful Rio Ocreza as it wound its way down the country to empty into Tejo. A beautiful trip and a very beautiful country,
This is a large landscape book of photographs that documents our travel. Look and enjoy.

Writing and Photography are my 4th and 5th careers. Together they are taking me to different places and worlds as I see things through new eyes and always looking for the unusual and unexpected. Photography now competes with writing fiction. My first 'Memories Fade the Spirit Lingers' is a historical romance and ghost story with a difference as it covers nearly four centuries. The second 'Trust Betrayed' is very different and deals with what happens when trust between a photographer and model breaks down. My latest challenge is in writing the Memoirs of Kayleigh Sanderson which is still being written although the first books in the series are available here at Blurb. This is the life of a poor child who despite tragedies has a dream and the will to succeed. My photographic work includes traditional landscape including books of my journeys to Portugal and Kenya. In addition I work with a few professional models on projects covering ranging for casual fashion to fine art nude.
