This is a revised format for the coffee table size edition of My Idaho Mountain Wisdom. It is an effort to record the philosophy of living that I have developed from 40 years of exploring the mountains and rivers of the American West. I have done a lot of backpacking and whitewater rafting, and have many photos from places that are reachable only by significant effort. But all the photos in this book were taken from roads or short, level walks of less than a mile - the major effort here was in developing patience, learning the rhythms of the seasons and the habits of wild animals and geysers. The process has guided my spiritual development, and has done much to shape my personal philosophy of living, which I share in the written portions of this book and dare to call wisdom. Time spent among these timeless mountains truly opens your eyes to wonder and your heart to God!
