    About the Book

    Edit

This is a book of fifty photographs of the North American West. As the title implies, very often images of the west leads one to wax almost poetic in describing what they have seen. By now visual attraction of the west almost borders on legend.

These are B&W photographs done purposely to get around the problem of color getting in the way of describing the significance of the scene.

Here the B&W photograph is employed as the ultimate abstraction in describing a definitive reality.

With that the metamorphosis was complete. I deal with a wide range of subject matter in the form of, literally, people, places, and things. This approach has reduced itself to about a dozen portfolios I update on a random basis determined by subject matter of interest at any given time. I like to think that this approach avoids the problem of being 'pigeon-holed' down the path of a single subject matter venue.
