I love the Pacific Coast. My family and I return frequently for the uplift to our spirits that comes from watching the interplay of wind and waves on the ocean, and from walking in the green majesty of the coastal Redwood forests. The encounters between restless waves, sculpted rocky shorelines, and sandy beaches are endlessly fascinating. While we have enjoyed the Pacific Coast from Baja California to Alaska, this book focuses on the coasts of Oregon and California, where we have made repeated visits. The story is arranged as a tour from south to north, beginning with Big Sur in California and ending with Rockaway Beach in Oregon.
