This book of limericks is an attempt to simultaneously upgrade the stature of limericks within the category of poetry, and of puns within the category of humor. Limericks are too often written without any purpose (except sometimes with a view to surprise the reader with offensive humor).



The limericks in this book are written with the purpose of telling a story. It is the author's contention that limericks written with a proper purpose deserve a stature equal or superior to other forms of poetry.
