    About the Book

    Edit

2013 UPDATED RELEASE! Welcome to my "Miniscapes"illuminated book. These are images for cards created over a span of 20 years for family and friends. Conceived as a one-time project in 1993, I created an original piece of artwork for the front of a honey jar to celebrate the New Year. I had no idea that I was starting a mini tradition of sorts. In most cases the images portray my daughter, myself and cats. The original illustrations are about 10" x 17". They are essentially mixed media: markers, oil pastel and pencils and currently combine digital imagery always in different combinations. Each "Miniscape" is then reduced and individually hand-painted with gold and silver pens. Each one is unique and personal. The sheet is then cut with pinking scissors to give the edges a zigzag finish. After, the "Miniscape" is glued onto Strathmore paper with a coloured decal edge. Each artwork is autobiographical and includes glimpses of my personal alphabet and symbolic imagery that inhabit my larger paintings. I also sell a limited edition of signed giclées to the pubic.
