At the start of 2013 I was given the unique opportunity to spend a week at the Tibetan monastery
Phuntsok Choling in Kathmandu, Nepal.
I was permitted to take photos virtually without any restrictions. The monks were told to live their daily routine, disregarding the omnipresent photographer. The result is a remarkable report on life in a Tibetan buddhist monastery: the religious activities, the philosophical debates, the prayer services, but also the housekeeping chores, the meals and sport and play.
This book offers a highly intimate insight into a culture under pressure.
