    The Scottish-American Community in the National Capital Area is vibrant with culture, tradition, pageantry, and good fun. This pictorial essay includes 17 pages of photographs of events such as Burns Nicht Supper, National Kirkin' o' the Tartan, National Tartan Day, Virginia Scottish Games and Festival, Alexandria Scottish Heritage Fair, Tartan Ball, and the Alexandria Scottish Christmas Walk. B.R. Forbes has captured this vibrancy in photographs in the years 2000 though 2013. He has been actively engaged in many organizations and events including the St. Andrew's Society of Washington, D.C.; Clans of Scotland USA; National Tartan Day; WhiskyDC; Virginia Scottish Games and Festival; and the Alexandria Scottish Heritage Fair.
