Jim Mallon has served as director of all operations at Surprise Stadium since it was built. On March 18, 2013 a pre-game surprise was created to honor Jim's service before the crowds of a Cactus League Spring Training game. This book chronicles that surprise party and includes other images taken by the author since 2009. For a man that controlled every aspect of stadium operations it was remarkable that a surprise event could be planned and executed without his knowledge. But he was completely surprised and touched as family, friends, fans and ball players honored Jim before his planned retirement later in 2013.
