    Cutting Down Your Poet Tree

Cutting Down Your Poet Tree was written in 1987 during a 90 day stay at Warm Springs Rehabilitation Camp in Southern California. While there I had a spiritual experience that had me writing in a manner of speaking in tongues.

My experience listening to punk music without ever learning the words is what influenced me to write these little "junk bites" the way they sound, not mean, though I expect the average genius will glean something from them. I read a book titled "Grammatical Man" by Jeremy Campbell (SIMON AND SCHUSTER 1982) which made me wonder if the stuff I wrote came from several head injuries; three stage dives, one car surfing fall and one pool side missed backflip surly damaged my brain enough to think that sound is more important that content or logic and I hope this is an enjoyable example.

Entropy lyrics I wrote for and used in Entropy, the Los Angeles punk rock band I sing in. Most of the subject matter has to do with a teenage preoccupation with saving the people of the world by getting them to read the book Entropy by Jeremy Rifkin (BANTAM 1981)
