    About the Book

    Edit

Meliah Motchman is a young woman living in Victoria, Canada. An athlete and committed vegan, she is also the first known person with Down syndrome to complete a 10-kilometre ocean swim.

Meliah lives in a home-share setting where she is encouraged to prepare her own meals. Because her visual impairment makes using a stove challenging, Meliah and her coach, Susan, created this cookbook—featuring recipes that require no cooking and that she can prepare independently.

Proceeds from this cookbook help support the Spirit Orcas, a unique group of people doing extraordinary things.

As their coach I have turned “NO” onto its head and shifted it to “your ON!” I did this by asking one simple question – “How can I help?” – Coach Susan
