    About the Book

    Edit

Cosmopolitan Cosmology is a group based project that teaches pinhole photography. For the last year or so we have been making solargraphs, which are extremely long exposures, shot using a pinhole camera. What you see in the images is the arc of the sun as it travels its daily journey across the sky over a six month period from solstice to solstice. Based on a small island off the coast of Ireland the group made over 200 cameras and sent them out to family and friends. Most of the images are of Ireland but some are of further a field - the U.K, France, Italy, Holland, and the U.S amongst others. On December the 21st 2009 the cameras were taken down and posted back to us. Often damaged, overexposed or full of water many of the cameras did not make it through their six month ordeal but the ones that did we collected together into this book as a record of their journey.
