    About the Book

    Edit

Dear Charlie is a sweeping poetic epic told across 313 cantos — a modern hymn to love, loss, and the search for meaning in an age of division. Dr. John Girdwood weaves a tapestry of grief and resurrection, where every canto becomes a letter to the unseen, a meditation on faith, nation, and the eternal pulse of human spirit.

Set between the sacred and the secular, Dear Charlie travels from city streets to cosmic valleys — from Freedom Tower to the Valley of Light — tracing the author’s journey through despair toward redemption in the aftermath of the assassination of Charlie Kirk.
Each image and verse stands as both elegy and prophecy, an artistic dialogue between poetry and painting that redefines what it means to remember, to believe, and to rise again.

Rich in Whitmanian cadence and visionary symbolism, Dear Charlie unites scripture, art, and soul. It invites readers to witness the conversation between the mortal and the divine — a correspondence written not in ink, but in light, based on quotes by Charlie Kirk that Dr. Girdwood turns into poems and paintings.
