About the Book
What is it about a photograph that draws us in, stirs our senses, and asks us to stay? Beth Gorham, curator for this SNAP Retrospective suggests there are six key elements. She has chosen thoughtful examples of each from a dozen exhibits held from 2016-2018 by the Society of Nashville's Artistic Photographers. Inside this book you will find images featuring Color, Light, the Human Narrative, Motion, Sense of Place, and Point of View.

My work primarily captures unstaged, candid scenes from seemingly everyday moments. I am intrigued with what these images might tell us about our "here and now" - what we might have in common with other people and places and experiences. I am active with several photography groups, continue to take workshops and classes, to seek out museums and galleries wherever we go, and to experiment with various methods and approaches to photography.
