In portraiture, one is looking for a connection with the person in front of you, who you may or may not know well and who may or may not be open to a connection or at least the connection you are looking for, which may or may not result in the revelation of the person’s real soul or true essence or foundation or emotion or mood, which may be joy or sadness or confidence or indifference or calm or confusion or irritation or proudness or relief or may reveal at the very least a certain expression.
