About the Book
The Second World War impacted almost every aspect of life in the Gosberton area. There were, of course, those brave souls who joined the forces, some of whom gave their lives. Back on the Home Front, villagers coped with shortages of food, clothing and petrol, blackouts, an influx of child evacuees and, not least, the threat of a German invasion. There were many who, in one way or another, ‘did their bit.’ This book is dedicated to them.
This work is not only a useful insight into how the war impacted the community, but also a reference for anyone researching ancestors who lived in the area during the war, with nearly a thousand individuals named and indexed.
