This exhibition catalog presents an inspiring chronology of 24 biomorphic drawings created by Frances Smokowski between 2023 and January of 2025. The works were produced across multiple studio sessions, building upon intuitive and/or randomized marking produced while riding as a passenger in the car. A personal essay by Poet and Curator, Allan Graubard offers background on the series as a whole, and select images receive the author's eloquent associations.
