About the Book
What happens when you trade the familiar streets of home for the unknown roads of another country?
In this heartfelt memoir, follow the personal journey of starting over as one couple leaves the UK behind to embrace the challenges and joys of expat life in France and Poland. From renovating a home in France to navigating the rhythms of living in rural Poland as a foreigner, their story captures the grit, humour, and resilience needed to build a new life from the ground up.
This is more than a moving abroad memoir — it’s an intimate look at the triumphs, setbacks, and discoveries that come with life after leaving the UK. Along the way, the search for belonging leads to an unexpected truth: sometimes, you have to travel far to truly find yourself.
For anyone who’s ever dreamed of finding home abroad, or wondered what it takes to begin again in a foreign land, Three Countries, One Journey offers an inspiring, real-life account of love, persistence, and the beauty of embracing the unknown.

About the Creator
Originally from London, I now live in a quiet part of Poland. After a career in criminal law and success in obtaining a post graduate diploma in personnel and development I found myself stepping into a new path—human resources—a field that felt more aligned with how I wanted to work with people. I spent a number of years living and working in France and this book is a cellebration of everything good in France. France in Focus is my second book and alongside some of the photographs, you will find short written passages that aim to express the feeling or atmosphere of the scene. These words, like the images, are an attempt to hold on to the texture of a moment — the hush of a shaded lane, the warmth of late afternoon sun, or the quiet hum of a village just before dusk. This hardcover imagewrap edition is a perfect gift for Francophiles, travellers, and lovers of quiet photography.
