Musa Ahmed is a 13-year-old student and first-time author of Handle It: A Teen’s Guide. He was homeschooled for the first six years of his education before starting secondary school in the UK for the very first time. That shift—from learning at home to navigating the noise, structure, and emotions of school life—was a big one. Alongside his studies, Musa explored a range of activities, including swimming, boxing, chess, and archery, which helped him build confidence and resilience. Starting school brought a lot of new feelings, so writing became a way for him to understand and reflect on those changes. With encouragement and support from his parents, and a desire to help others, he wrote this book to support kids going through similar transitions. Musa is still learning to recognise and manage his emotions, and he hopes his journey can offer comfort, insight, and encouragement to readers just like him.
