About the Book
The focus is on the Heian katas and the older Pinan katas. Often underestimated as simple forms of examination, they contain profound principles that are essential for self-defense. The focus of this book is on bunkai (kata application). Approximately 195 illustrations and 800 hand drawings illustrate the techniques and facilitate access to this fascinating aspect of karate. In addition, the book offers a historical insight and conveys valuable principles for didactics.
