About the Book
Wild fauna is under stress. The air it breathes and the water it drinks, the shrinking space it occupies and the vanishing resources upon which it depends are all changing. Plastics are found deep in the Mariana Trench, on Arctic beaches and everywhere in between. Lands flood, are scoured or burn. Ice melts. Animals are almost universally subject to human effect on their habitats and lifestyle in the Anthropocene. They have to adjust to human spaces as their natural world disappears. These pictures situate animals in built environments and with our artefacts to make explicit our appropriation of a planet that belongs to us all.
