    About the Book

    Edit

This the rags to riches memoir of a great man whose kindness, positivity, work ethic, shrewdness, and loving spirit led him to achieve the American Dream.

Alfred J. Marcus, born June 17, 1931, to first-generation Americans, grew up poor but happy in 1930s and ‘40s Newark, New Jersey. When Al was a baby, the Depression hit hard. His parents lost their house and had to move the family often. By the time Al entered Weequahic High School, he had lived in a variety of apartments and houses in multiple parts of town, and had attended many of the Newark public schools. He therefore had made many friends, and very fond childhood memories of playing sports in the streets and getting into innocent mischief.

After serving in the US Air Force in Florida, Germany, and Morocco, Al returned home and worked hard, supporting himself while earning his college degree and CPA. Over the years, he applied his self-drive and business acumen to achieving success. In his personal life, he did the same, merging with his beloved wife, raising their family together, and now enjoying their great-grandchildren.

Al is a man who knows how to live, and this is the story of his life.

    LifeStory
    Springfield, NJ

LifeStory writes your memoir for you. All you need to do is talk; we do the rest. LifeStory makes it easy and enjoyable to preserve your history and leave a lasting legacy for your family and friends to enjoy for generations to come. We interview you and then edit your words so they read very nicely, as though they were written rather than spoken. The words remain yours. When your loved ones read your story, they can practically hear your unique voice narrating, telling all your classic anecdotes and jokes, educating them about your life’s greatest memories, milestones and achievements. Your words are then pulled together with pictures and captions into a beautiful hard or softcover book with a great design. LifeStory makes an excellent gift and tribute for senior parents and grandparents, and really for any occasion: anniversaries, retirements, weddings, graduations, the simple celebration of life and family… Every Life is a Story. Pass It On.
