This is the first in a planned series of books from the authors on the wonderful world of sign photography. This series will demonstrate that great sign images can be created in a wide variety of lighting conditions and settings. Sign images often reveal amazing colors, lines, patterns, shapes, forms, and textures. This particular volume discusses and shows many examples of the various genres and styles of sign-making. Photographic techniques for capturing the best possible images are presented, taking into consideration the various types of signs, lighting conditions, and shooting environments. This book provides a nice sampling of vintage as well as more modern signs in the form of photographs. Our hope is that this book will provide the viewer with a good representation of the various artistic styles that have taken shape in the form of signs and that translate well into great images.
