Lightening strikes the Bay Area. My cousin calls to chat. He tells me that they were awakened by smoke billowing into the windows of their Bonny Doon home. They are ok for the moment, but were moving valuables out of the area. We talk a little more about the literal and figurative fires burning in the rest of the country.

They along with their neighbors would soon be fighting the fire. They lost their home, but saved an artist community.
