    Meneer Berend is postbode. Hij woont in een grote drukke stad waar veel wolkenkrabbers staan en veel verkeer door de smalle straten raast.
    Boven de stad hangt een dikke grijze deken van smerige stank, zo dik dat de zon er niet doorheen kan schijnen.
    Meneer Berend werkt alleen in het kleine postkantoor, daar sorteert hij eerst de post die hij later in de hele stad bezorgt.
    Elke dag fietst hij dezelfde route, tot er op een dag iets bijzonders gebeurt.
