    About the Book

    Edit

A complete reprint of the 1893 (first) edition, long since out of print - including all of the original advertisements. It first appeared in 1892 as a series of articles in "The Fishing Gazette" and was then published separately.

A first edition copy of this book was left to me by my father, Ray Watson - on his death in 2008. A keen angler for many years, he used the book on his extensive fishing trips around the county of his birth despite it being more than half a century since its publication. Rather tatty and well thumbed with its binding falling apart it seemed an ideal opportunity to scan its contents for re-printing prior to having to original rebound.

I have designed a new cover as the original was too badly damaged and I trust that you feel that it is in keeping with the period.

I hope you enjoy its contents to the same degree as my father did...
