When her daughter was born, she was diagnosed with a rare genetic metabolic disorder called Phenylketonuria, otherwise known as PKU. Kacie creates children books that help to spread awareness, and inspire other families that live with metabolic diseases. She continues to write books about Frankie, as she travels through the world with these dietary restrictions. Kacie's goal is to create a wide range of books that encourage children to live life full of adventure, curiosity, and kindness toward others, no matter what obstacles may stand in their way.
