Abkhazia, Autumn 2000. In the Caucasus region, wedged between Russia and Georgia, the remnants of the Soviet Union are still very present. A war of independence has driven away half of the population, especially the youth.



Resorts and tourist sites, once frequented by the highest dignitaries of the party, are now falling into ruins. Today, the elders, the patriots drunken of pride and the ghosts are the only inhabitants.



As humanitarian worker, I listened to them telling me "the good old days", and I've photographed them.
