Bill Walker was exposed to art at an early age. His father had received training at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts and was a draftsman by occupation. Easels and drawing boards were present at all times in the home. Encouraged to create and draw by both parents, Bill took special art classes in middle and high schools, and continued to paint during his military career, taking courses in California and Oklahoma. He has exhibited and sold paintings in amateur venues.
