    Layton Baker fell in love with Paris while taking classes at La Sorbonne, the University of Paris. and living at the Cite Universitaire de Paris. She returned to study in Angers, France through a Fund for Teachers grant and lived with a French family in immersion. She has visited and photographed France several times in the last twenty years, always continuing to explore Paris's wonders when possible, and finding new ones throughout the country.

    Layton Baker is a writer and a photographer who began studying French in 8th grade, drawn to the culture's appreciation of beauty, literature, and fine arts. She fell in love with Paris while taking classes at La Sorbonne, the University of Paris and living at the Cite Universitaire de Paris. She returned to study in Angers, France and lived with a French family in immersion. She has visited France several times, continuing to explore Paris's wonders when possible, and finding new ones throughout the country. Layton is working on additional books featuring photography from Italy, Spain, Switzerland, Germany, Greece and the United States and a memoir about her first summer as a student in Paris tentatively titled Sudden Summer Downpours. Also on her to do list is a collection of short memoir pieces paired with photographs titled, The Feel of Travel.
